Woodbridge School District to Dedicate Basketball Court to Coach Len Chasanov
On February 10, prior to the varsity boys basketball game versus Seaford High School, the Woodbridge School District will proudly dedicate the Woodbridge High School basketball court in honor of legendary coach Len Chasanov.
Coach Chasanov began his coaching career at Woodbridge in 1971 at the age of 21, quickly establishing a program defined by discipline, integrity, and a deep belief in student-athletes. Just one year later, he led Woodbridge to the 1972 Henlopen Conference Championship, setting the tone for decades of competitive excellence. In 1987, his leadership guided the Raiders to the State Basketball Final, further cementing his place in Woodbridge athletic history.
Known for his tough but honest approach, Coach Chasanov challenged his players to be their best—on the court and in life. His influence extended far beyond wins and losses, shaping generations of students through accountability, perseverance, and teamwork.
In recognition of his lasting impact, the court will officially be named The Len Chasanov Court. The dedication ceremony will take place immediately before tip-off, and the district invites alumni, families, and community members to join in celebrating a legacy that will continue to inspire players and fans for years to come.
This special moment reflects the pride of the Woodbridge community and honors a coach whose influence will forever be part of Blue Raider history.
