Woodbridge Middle School students will have even more opportunities to explore their creativity thanks to a generous donation from the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation.

On Monday, September 21, the Freeman Foundation donated $2,110 in a variety of art supplies to the Woodbridge Middle School art program, led by art teacher Megan Moore. The new supplies will provide students with additional materials to create, experiment, and develop their artistic skills throughout the school year.

The Foundation extended its support even further by matching the value of the art supply donation with a $2,110 check to the school’s Music and Performing Arts program, led by Stacey Hartman. Together, the contributions represent $4,220 in support for the arts at Woodbridge Middle School.

Woodbridge School District extends a special thank you to Community Engagement Director Lindsay Richard and Arts Education Coordinator Nancy Curry for their work in supporting this partnership and helping bring these resources to Woodbridge students.

The donation reflects the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation’s larger commitment to making the arts accessible to students and communities throughout Delmarva. The nonprofit organization, established in 2007 in honor of Joshua M. Freeman, works to advance access to the arts through performance, education, and advocacy. Through its Arts Access Initiative, the Foundation provides year-round arts experiences to students, families, and community members across the region. Its Arts Education program alone reaches more than 25,000 students annually through arts experiences in area schools.

The Foundation’s support of Woodbridge Middle School is an investment not only in supplies and programming, but also in opportunities for students to express themselves, discover new interests, and experience the arts as an important part of their education.
