Woodbridge High School and Woodbridge Middle School FFA members enjoyed an outstanding summer, earning numerous championships, team awards, and individual honors during the 107th Annual Delaware State Fair. Their accomplishments were recognized at the Delaware FFA Awards Breakfast on July 31, celebrating months of hard work, leadership, and agricultural excellence. Woodbridge High School FFA members excelled in several Career Development Events (CDEs), showcasing their knowledge and technical skills.
The Dairy Evaluation Team—Cooper Kerrick, Emily Woodall, Riley Lineweaver, and Logan Sears—captured the State Championship, with Cooper Kerrick earning the individual state title. Emily Woodall placed second, Riley Lineweaver fifth, and Logan Sears seventh. The team will represent Delaware at the National FFA Convention this October.
The Forestry Team of Matthew Altizer, Matthew Dinn, Tryston Murphy, and Margaret Ocampo placed second in the state and will advance to regional competition in Massachusetts to represent Delaware. Additional team accomplishments included: 3rd Place – Nursery/Landscape Evaluation, 6th Place – Livestock Evaluation, and Top-10 individual finishes in Safe Tractor Operation.
Woodbridge Middle School FFA members also delivered an impressive performance at the Delaware State Fair. The Livestock Evaluation Team earned the State Championship, while Madison Neal placed third individually. The Horse Evaluation Team finished third overall, with Ella Crockett earning second-place individual honors. The middle school chapter also received 5th Place for its Horticulture Display.
Woodbridge FFA members showcased their talents through woodworking, welding, floral design, horticulture, agricultural communications, and other exhibit categories, earning dozens of premium ribbons. The chapter's FFA displays were also recognized, with the Landscape Display earning 2nd Place and the Horticulture Display placing 6th. In livestock competitions, members earned numerous top placings in beef, sheep, and swine events. Highlights included Reserve Champion Junior Angus Heifer for Makayla Goff, Reserve Champion Hampshire Ram, and multiple championship and reserve honors in Hampshire sheep classes.
Founded in 1969, the Woodbridge High School FFA Chapter continues to provide students with opportunities to develop leadership, personal growth, and career readiness through agricultural education. Together, the high school and middle school FFA programs continue to prepare students for success while representing Woodbridge with pride.
