Members of the Woodbridge High School Cross Country team took their training beyond the traditional course on Saturday, August 29, with a visit to Charm City Run in Rehoboth Beach.
WHS runners joined four to five members of the Charm City Run team for an approximately four-mile run along the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, into Gordon’s Pond State Park, and back. Following the run, the team enjoyed a light breakfast and received a discount on items in the store.
The experience also allowed the athletes to learn more about themselves as individual runners. Team members had their strides and gait measured and analyzed on a treadmill, helping them better understand their unique running patterns and approaches that may help them train more effectively.
This annual experience helps personalize cross country for WHS athletes, showing that every runner has an individual style, stride, and approach to the sport.
Thank you to Charm City Run for welcoming our Blue Raiders and providing another GREAT Saturday of running, learning, and team building!
