Senior Awards

On Thursday, May 21st, Woodbridge High School's annual Senior Awards Night served as a powerful celebration of achievement, perseverance, and community as Woodbridge High School proudly recognized the accomplishments of the Class of 2026. The evening served as a reminder that student success is not achieved alone—it is built through hard work, determination, and the unwavering support of families, educators, and a community deeply invested in the future of its young people.

This year’s ceremony highlighted the extraordinary generosity of local organizations, businesses, civic groups, memorial foundations, churches, alumni associations, and educational partners who continue to make post-secondary dreams possible for Woodbridge students. This year saw the introduction of the Blue Raider Core Value Scholarships, awarded to students that aligned with the seven core values of the Woodbridge School District- Respect, Achievement, Integrity, Diversity, Excellence, Relationships, and Service. Through scholarships, awards, and special recognitions, these organizations demonstrated an incredible commitment to helping students take their next steps toward college, vocational training, military service, and career readiness.

Community organizations such as the Bridgeville Apple Scrapple Festival, American Legion Post 26, Bridgeville Fire Company, Kiwanis Club of Bridgeville, Former Bridgeville Lions Club and Lioness Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7478, Harrington New Century Women’s Club, Andrewville Ruritan, Burrsville Ruritan, Harrington/Felton/Greenwood Rotary, Inspiring Project, St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Harrington New Century Women's Club, Distinguished Young Women of Delaware, and many others once again showed what it means to invest in the next generation. Their scholarships recognize not only academic achievement, but also leadership, citizenship, service, character, and perseverance.

The evening also celebrated the generosity of local families and memorial scholarship funds that honor loved ones by creating opportunities for future generations. Scholarships such as the Mary Bailey Scholarship, Warren LeBow Memorial Scholarship, Edna K. Turner Memorial Scholarship, Augusta F. Carr-Ross Scholarship, Thomas Messick Memorial Scholarship, Byron Outten Memorial Scholarship, Margaret Lynch Davis Memorial Scholarship, Preston Grace Memorial, Micheal Hinton Memorial Scholarship, Merritt M. Littrell Scholarship, Samuel A. Wylie Scholarship, Ralph E. Davis Scholarship, Carlisle Education Scholarship, and the Fillmore and Mable Clifton Endowment Fund continue to leave lasting legacies by easing financial burdens and opening doors for graduating seniors.

Educational excellence and future career pathways were further supported through awards recognizing students pursuing specialized interests and professions, including scholarships for future educators, vocational and trade school students, performing arts, athletics, multilingual achievement, and STEM-related fields. Programs such as the Delaware Certificate of Multiliteracy, performing arts recognitions, and department awards celebrated the many talents and passions represented within the graduating class.

Senior Awards Night also reflected the strength of partnerships between Woodbridge High School and community businesses, organizations, and supporters who understand that investing in students today strengthens the future of the entire community. Whether through financial scholarships, certificates of achievement, leadership awards, or gifts of encouragement, every contribution sent a powerful message to students: your hard work matters, and your community believes in you.

As scholarship presenters, families, staff members, and community supporters gathered to applaud the Class of 2026, including the announcement of Class top 10, Valedictorian, and Salutatorian, the evening became far more than an awards ceremony—it became a celebration of hope, resilience, and opportunity. Together, our community awarded tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships and support, helping WHS students pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.

Woodbridge High School extends heartfelt gratitude to every organization, donor, volunteer, and presenter whose generosity continues to shape the futures of our students. Because of your commitment, the Class of 2026 leaves knowing they are supported, celebrated, and prepared for the exciting journeys ahead.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026—your future is bright, and your community is cheering you on every step of the way. 🎓
