The Concert Band enjoyed an exciting and educational day as students participated in a special improvisation clinic led by local music educator and freelance trumpet player Mr. Salerni. Known for performing with various jazz groups, Mr. Salerni shared the basics of improvisation and guided students as they practiced creating their own musical ideas.
Students had a great time stepping outside their comfort zones and exploring new skills. The band looks forward to continuing work on the piece and showcasing their progress at the upcoming spring concert. The group also gave a special thank you to Mr. Salerni for visiting and to Blayne for spending the day with them.
