Woodbridge Early Childhood Education Center (WECEC) and the entire Woodbridge School District are proud to announce that Taylor Richey, school counselor at WECEC has been named Delaware’s 2026 Behavioral Health Professional of the Year.

This marks the first time an employee from the Woodbridge School District has received this prestigious statewide honor, making the recognition especially meaningful for the district and community.

According to the Delaware Department of Education, the Behavioral Health Professional of the Year award recognizes outstanding school counselors, social workers, psychologists, and other behavioral health professionals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to supporting students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success.

Ms. Richey was recognized for her unwavering dedication to students and families, her leadership in fostering a positive school climate, and her commitment to ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Her work at Woodbridge Early Childhood Education Center has had a tremendous impact on students, staff, and families alike.
