On Friday, February 27th, the Woodbridge Early Childhood Education Center (WECEC) 2nd Grade Chorus, led by WECEC Music Teacher Mr. Billy Propes, had the distinct honor of performing at the Woodbridge Middle School Black History Month Program. The special event brought together students and staff in grades 6 through 8 to celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans.
Our talented second graders delivered a heartfelt performance of “I Have a Dream,” a powerful tribute honoring Martin Luther King Jr.. Through their voices, our youngest Blue Raiders shared a message of hope, unity, courage, and equality with an audience of older peers.
Standing proudly on the middle school stage, the WECEC Chorus demonstrated not only their musical growth but also their understanding of the importance of Dr. King’s legacy. Their performance was met with warm applause and smiles from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, who clearly appreciated the meaningful tribute.
The opportunity for our second graders to perform in front of middle school students made the day even more special. It showcased the strong connection between our schools and highlighted how the Woodbridge community supports and uplifts one another across grade levels.
Black History Month provides an important time to reflect, learn, and celebrate. We are incredibly proud of our WECEC 2nd Grade Chorus for representing our school with excellence and for sharing such an inspiring message through music.
Way to go, Blue Raiders!
